More work....

Well, the weather has been so atrocious this last week that I have battened down the hatches and got stuck in to work. I finally finished the Hare Wheel Quilt. I just need to find a suitable bony stick from which to hang it. I'll show you close ups next time. That is a Hare's head in the middle, by the way, not a tadpole, as my small son thought. He also commented that all the words go round and round in circles 'just like your words do when you talk, Mummy'. Hmmm, I'm not quite sure what to make of that!

Here are the fox and magpie, tricksters and lovers, spirits circling and dancing.

And some of the composition sketches, large ones by my standards, listed on Etsy, as I REALLY need to start paying the rent on the studio :)

I do love your watercolours... the fox has a lovely form, light footed and leaping... And I love the Owl painting with your daughter, the perspective and colours are great :)

These are beautiful Danielle! I love the quilt. And though our Magpies may not sound quite like each other (!), they are both tricksters. It's funny, a few months ago I was thinking about ways to find a common ground between my ancestral stories and the stories of this land I live in, wondering which animals and birds here might fit those archetypes...and the immediate, obvious one was Magpies as Tricksters. It's somehow really comforting to think that they share that with their feathered relatives back in the lands of my ancestors!

Great pictures, Danielle, and I hope you get enough to pay the rent. It's a tough job sometimes!!!

Beautiful... I love the fox and magpie painting that dissolves into blue mists. And the owl painting, well, owls just take me! And I, too, am laughing at your son's comment. ;)

I found your blog while trying to find info on a piece of art I purchased yesterday of a rabbit family...needless to say your site wasn't what I was looking for, but the artwork is lovely! Can you link me to your Etsy, please?
