A Gilded Hare and an enchanted Forest

The Gold Leaf has arrived! I haven't yet dared to gild the great expanse on Freyalyn's painting, but I have begun to play and experiment with it. Here is a teeny tiny golden hare.

And in her room one night a forest grew ..... A dark and mysterious forest, hung about with owls, of mossy green and lichen grey, just right for a dark and mysterious daughter of the earth. Dogwood stars decorated with wooden beads surround a collection of unicorn paintings. A perfect space for dreaming, and writing, and contemplating the world which opens up before you.

I feel slightly covetous - MY bedroom contains nothing but an exploding mass of laundry - wet stuff draped around on airers in the vain hope it might dry, clean clothes in huge piles ready to be sorted, (NOT ironed - life is too short to iron things) and wobbly stacks of books, ready to catch me out when I creep out to answer Beetle's midnight mew.

You would think butter wouldn't melt, wouldn't you? Hmmmm, don't you believe it.

What a magical childhood for your daughter. We still have the Fairy Glen, in the little triangle beyond the paddock, where magic still lingers . . .

Your golden hare is handsome; how do you apply or work with gold leaf?

Such a GREAT room!!! Just my style... enchanted forest and owls! And I love the photos of cat and dogs cuddling.... sweet! And my mother gave me a very nice iron when I moved here, um, well, I've used it ONCE in 7 years to iron a shirt for a party at my mom's house- and quite poorly, I might add.

Lovely bedroom for a young girl to dream in. Pets always get the best seats don't they! my cat has started waking me in the night and then lies across the stairs smirking as I stumble down to let her out! I didn't know animals had a sense of humour - this one's is clearly warped.

Beautiful, beautiful room. I could move in now!

We have a cat too, that for some reason never cuddles with the dogs at all, I don't think I've even got a photo of them all together. She prefers horizontal human surfaces...

But what a similar pair of dogs to Lunil and Bil.

LOL your bedroom sounds like ours, mostly full of kitchen ware and groceries while the builders knock walls down. I did laugh at the pets on the sofa, you can never find anywhere to sit down in our house :D

And I am excited to see your gold experiments emerge :)
Hope to catch up soon!
Lots of love xxx R

Thankyou everyone!
Terra - It comes in very fine sheets - you apply size to the surface and then press your sheet down. It's VERY fragile!
Freyalyn - the Ginger Ninja wouldn't deign to grace the dogs with his presence. Beetle, on the other hand, craves nothing more than to be bosom buddies with Pie and Daisy. Daisy, who had not come across cats until she came to live with us, finds it quite disconcerting!
