Happy New Year to all! I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas break - we certainly have. Feasting and Family, walking and reading ( and a few days of rather scary ice!)
I haven't picked up a pencil at all, but instead I picked up my needles and thread, and began work on my textile interpretation of 'Long Lugs'. I am SO enjoying this, and envisage making it over and over again, in many variations! It's been quite a while since I did any serious creative sewing, so I thought I'd treat these as samplers, reminding myself of different techniques and stitches. It's so much nicer to sit by the fire sewing of an evening than to be out in my studio painting!

Happy New Year to you hon!!
Bright wishes to you and your loved ones, Danielle. I hope 2010 is filled with magical moments. xx
I arrived by a circuitous Blog hopping route and am so pleased I did! I have been trying to scroll down the page, reading, admiring your art, eyes flicking right then left, having to go back up a bit... I think this calls for a cup of tea and a quiet hour for a proper look :D best wishes Kath in Bucks
How wonderful Danielle! Yes, yes, sitting by the fire is such a treat! :0) Wishing you and yours the best of New Years!
I love sewing and your post has inspired me to think about taking it up again when I have time. This looks like it's going to be a really great piece, so I am looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Happy New Year, by the way!

ps. Any more sugared almonds going??
Sounds like you had a lovely festive season! Funny, but the first creative thing I have done this year is some sewing/applique/quilting type work too. Have never done applique or quilting before, but I'm trying to just play with it and see what happens without having any expectations...fun so far!
There's something very satisfying about sitting with needlework on your lap this time of year isn't there? This is looking gorgeous and look! It's a special blue moon! I'm particularly excited about his one because it was on my birthday, not just any old birthday either! Happy new year Danielle, wishing you much joy and creative magic. love Jess xx
