Illustration Friday 'Instinct'

Our animal instincts are only just below the surface. What animal guides you?
These two paintings, just finished today, are the last ones for my exhibition. I couldn't resist returning to themes of transformation, and I'm pleased with these girls! Unfortunately, the scanner hasn't picked up the facial details very well - it's all a bit washed out. But I will get some better scans done so that I can make prints.
These, along with the other Fox and Crow paintings, and the Sky Pirates, will be on exhibition at The Courtyard Cafe, Chagford, from the first of March, and then offered for sale.

Very nice, Danielle! Tiger guides me, so does hawk, with others coming and going as they see fit, lol. I've been feeling a lot of wolf energy around me these days...

These are beautiful additions to your exhibition!

Your art work really speaks to me, as I probably commented before.
My totem animal for years was the trickster and wise animals, the coyote. Now I have added the noble wolf. So I have two animals that represent me.
I will look around your website and see if you sell notecards.

Do you read Charles de Lint? Your animal / person paintings suit his vision very well.

I love work like this that features animal and figure work combined. Great job!

Thankyou everyone! I have always felt that crow was my totem.
Terra, I have read some Charles de Lint, though only after I sold a large painting last year of a crow woman, and the buyer said it reminded her of his characters, so I had to go and find it to read! I love his crow girls!

I feel an affinity with this theme too. Most of my work at art school was about anthropomorphism - had the tutors baffled!x

Wow, Danielle! Love the Raven guide, which is mine also at the present, before it was the Bear. With the beautiful works you have put out recently, you should have a great exhitition!

Wow, your paintings are incredibly beautiful! You have a wonderful light tough and a flair for drama. So captivating! I love both of these women, as well as your fox and crow below. My guiding animal? Hmmmm. Now don't laugh. It would probably be the cow -- nonconfrontational and domesticated. But I'm not quite that gassy. :)

Thank you so much for your visit!

More beautiful art! :)
Since I'm a gemini with a gemini ascendant, I have multiple personnalities...... And many totem-animals.... The crow is one of them! :) I should really draw all those animals in my totem.... I'm procrastinating a lot! Hhehehehehehee....
My instinct made me discover all of them.... and meditation... ;o)

Beautiful. Love this imagery and well done, too. I might be biased, though. My "instinct" wears a wolf mask. Today, anyway.

These are absolutely lovely! Maybe the scanner didn't pick out the details so well, but still, the girls faces totally match the transformational animal...The red girl DOES look like a fox, and the dark girl DOES look like a raven (crow?). WOW!

These are both sooooo wonderful!I would love to see your exhibition~
Forgive me if this is what you are already doing, but it seems you could be in demand doing portraits of people with their personal animal totem. You are gifted.
